Songwriter Nick Hakim has announced his new album Cometa and shares the new single, 'Happen', featuring piano from Alex G and drums from Abe Rounds. The new record was recorded across various studios and homes in America and features a number of collaborators. It's a reflection on Hakim's experiences of falling in love: “I think it’s nice to have love in your life and to have people that are sharing and wanting that,” he said. “It’s my interpretation of a really romantic way to express love in my own way.” 'Happen' is an understated slowcore number; gentle drums and patiently strummed guitar provide a steady foundation for Hakim's soothing voice as woozy synths ebb in and out with Alex G's softly tumbling piano. The track is accompanied by a video inspired by people watching on the train, directed by Johan Carlson who explains "I hope this video can be an example of when people are interesting to look at, in a way that helps you reflect on your own life.
